Hello Yonas Kassa,
Good to see you in Microsoft Community.
There could be several reasons why you are experiencing connection issues between your Windows 10 computer and your Arduino Mega 2560.
- Incorrect Port Selection: Make sure you have selected the correct COM port in the grbl controller. Go to the Device Manager ("Win" + "X" > "Device Manager") in Windows, and check which COM port your Arduino Mega 2560 is connected to. Then select that port in the grbl controller.
- Driver Issues: Ensure that you have installed the correct drivers for your Arduino Mega 2560. You can download the drivers from the Arduino website. Also, try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers to make sure they are properly installed. Visit Mega 2560 Rev3 | Arduino Documentation for more details. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.*
- Cable Connection: Check the USB cable connection between your computer and the Arduino Mega 2560. Make sure the cable is properly connected to both the computer and the Arduino board. Try a different USB cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Baud Rate Mismatch: Ensure that the baud rate in the grbl controller and your Arduino Mega 2560 are set to the same value. The default baud rate for the Arduino Mega 2560 is 115200.
- Conflict with Other Programs: Other programs running on your computer may be interfering with the communication between the grbl controller and your Arduino Mega 2560. Try closing all other programs and then connect to your Arduino board.
Additionally, this question is out of scope for the Answers Support Community. The best place to get help is Microsoft Learn - Windows Hardware Performance(microsoft.com), where is intended to support more advanced users. Hope your problem will be solved soon!
I won't be able to help you, but I'll leave that question open in case one of our amazing volunteers has ideas for you.
