How to fix the ‘Chat not allowed by account settings’ bug.

Hi. So. Yesterday I had applied shaders to my Minecraft, it crashed my game - so I closed and restarted my computer. I logged back on and tried to join a server. I got into the server, but I couldn’t open the chat. I can see chats from other people, but every time I type t or / it shows up as the red pop up message: “Chat not allowed by account settings. Press ‘t’ again for more information.”

I went to the article. I read it thoroughly, followed all the steps. My privacy settings were all set to everyone, so that wasn’t the problem. I checked chat settings in the game and chat is shown. I am confused, and lost. How do I fix this? I even tried deleting the whole game and redownloading it. Nothing. I tried to switch all my privacy settings off, saving it, then switching them back off. Nothing. I’ve been trying to figure this out for about a day now. Please help?
