I have been having problems with my windows 11 updates ever since the turn of the year. Whenever I head to windows updates in my settings, I always get an Install error - 0x80070002. What could be the problem?

My system information is:

Dell latitude 7290

Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 22621) (22621.ni_release.220506-1250)

    Hi Joseph,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to System - Troubleshoot

    Click 'Other Troubleshooters'

Run the Windows Update troubleshooter from the resulting page

    2

If that does not get the update service working on your PC

On the updates settings page, pause updates for 7 days

Restart (not shut down) your PC

Then, re-enable updates, do they then install correctly?

    3

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to Windows Updates

What update(s) are showing as pending and failing on your system?
