I'm having a very weird issue with my pc, and I believe it has to do with corrupted dll files though I could be mistaken. When trying to update my graphics drivers I receive a "class not registered error". Multiple other programs which require access to my users/warre/appdata are also non functioning. I've attached some dump files here as well as my sfc log. any help at all would be appreciated as I'm not sure how long I can go without restarting my pc again thus starting the infinite BSOD cycle all over again.

    Hi Warren,

Did that fail when you tried to run the Media Creation Tool to create the ISO, if so, do you have access to another PC you can download the ISO on?

Thanks again for the quick reply Dave. I believe "corrupt" might be an understatement in this case. I followed your instructions, but upon attempting to run the installation agent I was hit with "ErrorClass not registered". I'm not sure what the next step should be, I tried to reset the pc from the cloud as well, but was unable to.

    Hi Warren,

Thank you for that information, your Windows installation seems to be vey corrupt, the best option is to perform an in-place repair with the Windows 11 ISO.

Please follow the steps, this is then just an update and your files and applications will remain untouched.

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Windows 11 ISO

When the ISO file completes downloading

    Disconnect from the Internet

Disconnect all external devices with the exception of a mouse or keyboard.

Temporarily disable any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed

Then, in Windows File Explorer, double click the ISO and then run Setup.exe and select the upgrade option.

So I did doublecheck that my account is indeed listed as an admin. As for potential ram issues, I'm not overclocking anything atm but I did restore default values in my bios just to be sure. I am curious though why you don't believe it would be a file issue. When I ran sfc I got the classic

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." ****

Also there's the issue of the black screen of death I get after trying to sign into windows. When my system finally decides to stop throwing blue screens my way, it will frequently hit me with a black screen after trying to sign in which forces me to either hard reset or ctrl alt delete just so I can restart. When I try and run DISM to restore health it just stops at exactly 62.3% doesn't throw up any errors and then refuses to try again.

    Hi Warren,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

    Permissions Errors:

Click your Start Button, then just type netplwiz and press Enter

Is your user account listed as an Administrator

    2

    Blue Screens:

Your minidump files just indicate memory (RAM) corruption no specific driver is listed

All drivers and BIOS on your ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO are fully up to date

Boot into BIOS, if you are overclocking your processor, stop that, if there is an XMP Profile set on your DAM, set that to default

Wait to see if your system stabilizes, if not, the best option is to download the widely available free utility MemTest86, then run a full 4 pass scan with that to test your RAM for physical errors
