The bitlocker is INCORRECT!!!!

Hi guys,

I understand from other threads that there are many of us experienced problem with bitlocker. I have similar and way ridiculous problem. I found bitlocker for my device, but with different update date prompted in the Windows troubleshooting. I tried to use it anyway, but windows did not accept it, the key was incorrect.

I tried to get help from Microsoft, but the answer was too technical, the solution is to format my windows, which is unacceptable - and I believe all of you would agree with me. The data inside is basically MY LIFE! There are government-related and taxes documents there! How can Microsoft said just wipe it! And I just found out that the issue was closed, without my consent.

I understand that bitlocker is suppose to be security. The device is mine, the data is mine. And it's just verified by this key only? Really? While this key creates problem for us, the owner? Really? Without any other solution? Really? I purchased Windows and Surface from Microsoft, should I deserve decent service, which is more human?

Anyway, most importantly..

Can anyone tell me how can I get the correct bitlocker? or who should I address this issue?

Hi, sorry I was in Hawaii.

To boot it you need to go into the bios or uefi, what computer do you have? and to get a linux bootable usb, I recommend ubuntu. you will need a separate computer. If you have windows on the other computer I reccommend rufus, if you have mac os or linux, use balina etcher

There is generally no work around for a failing BitLocker recovery key. Have you checked your Microsoft account to see if the correct key is listed there. Finding your BitLocker recovery key in Windows - Microsoft Support

    Hello!

This is a difficult subject :o

I can't guarantee this will work but it is worth a shot i guess. You can try to make a usb with live linux on it and see if your files show up. It worked for me once

    Hi Joe,

    Thanks for the idea.

I just know a little bit of IT, I'm not a technical person. What is live linux and how to get it? So, I plug-in the usb to my device? What should I do then?
