I just bought a Xbox Wireless Adapter for PC and it doesn't work. I went over to device manager and the drivers for it got the error code 56. I tried the adapter on another windows 10 device and it works there just fine so there aren't any problems with it. I had some problems in the past with internet adapters with the same problem same error code

Hello, I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

What is the full error and where/when are you getting it?

    1. Try these fixes for Xbox Wireless Adapter Error Code 56 in Windows 10:

    https://thegeekpage.com/windows-is-still-settin...

    https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/u...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqiWNXqa4zA

    1. If none of those work then Everything possible is here to try for fixing Wifi in Windows 10,

so work through these fixes until one works: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    1. You said you've had previous problems with this same error for Wifi adapters on this device? Was it ever resolved? When was the last Clean Install? I've seen that resolve this when nothing else worked. You can Look over this gold standard Clean Install which includes everything that works best in Windows and is better than any amount of money can buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

The reason I suggest this is that no one of millions who have followed exactly this specific install has ever come back with further problems that I've seen. It is a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience that will make you permanently the master of your PC because you will learn everything that works best and how to apply it with your own hands.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.

If this doesn't work, download updated drivers from the maker of your computer such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. The maker of your computer is responsible for having updated drivers so their computer will work on Windows.

Many companies have scanners to help you with this. If you have a problem, their support should be able to help you find the correct driver.
