Changing Name of Teams Channel breaks it

I have the same problem as this: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/0d33b003-e131-46b1-873a-7aed4ff50981/after-renaming-a-channel-in-teams-it-has-disappeared?forum=msteams

It appears that since naming the teams channel, I can no longer access documents under Files regardless of the app I use. The old name is listed. In Sharepoint or the desktop, a folder with the new name appears and a folder with the old name also appears (empty).

Any fixes for this?

@JasonYates-2771,

You could try the following steps to fix this problem:

  1. Delete the newly created folder in SharePoint.

  2. Rename the old folder to the current channel name.

Then, it will remake connections between Files and Stuff channel and Teams Resources folder.

Thank you Sharon. I don't quite understand...Files and Stuff contains all of my files. Team Resources is the old name and is empty. Are you suggesting I delete the folder that contains my files, and rename the empty Team Resources to Files and Stuff?

@JasonYates-2771,
So, the new folder contains all files. I misunderstand your words -- In SharePoint or the desktop, a folder with the new name appears and a folder with the old name also appears (empty).
You could try to delete the Teams Resources folder and rename the File and Stuff folder as Teams Resource.

How do you delete a folder in SharePoint? We're finding that folders containing the same name as a previous channel name don't have a Delete option or a Rename option connected to the three dots to the right of the folder name in SharePoint.
