Using Authenticator to access Surface Pro instead of PIN/Password

Hi,

I have removed the requirement for Windows Hello PIN - it therefore requires my password to access my device

I have removed a password and gone 'passwordless' using the Authenticator

Yet, I still enter my original (now removed) password to access my account on the device - how can I have it so the Authenticator opens the device not a static password?

Thanks!

    Hi Daryl,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Windows, by default, do not support 2FA to log in, and neither does any hardware do so, for example, a Mobile Phone be it iOS or Android. This is a standard industry practice and there are scenarios where there is no internet connectivity so your device will remain locked.

You must use a PIN/Password to login to your computer aka offline methods.

Hope this makes sense and helps.
