Keeping Several Notepad Pages Open Simultaneously

In just the past two days it seems that only one Notepad note can be kept open at a time whereas previously many could though I'm not doing anything differently. Has there been some change with Notepad? I recently got a Microsoft questionnaire asking my opinion of it and responded that it was fine, being nice and simple.

It sounds like you have the new Notepad that, by default, opens each file in a new tab instead of a new window. You can either just drag each tab away from the initial window to get the file displayed in a separate window or you can change the default behavior via the Settings ⚙️ within Notepad:

    Hi warren982,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Do you have the new tabbed Notepad app in Widows 11?

If you do, what do you mean by you cannot have more than one document open at a time, can you not have multiple tabs open with multiple docs at the same time, what happens when you try to do that/

Many thanks, my change, as you suggested, has worked though it took me awhile to figure out how to do it I having gone into the Systems Settings rather than the top of the open Notepad.

Great! I've edited the answer to clarify where the setting is located.
