Code 19 on realtek audio device.

Im very stupid. I have deleted a registry key related to this issue altho i dont know which one it might be. I now have no sound, the device manager propertys report "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" Dxdiag sais there is no sound card installed. I have tryed disabling, uninstalling, reinstalling drivers. I have tryed deleting upper and lower limit keys, this causes an attempt to reinstall the driver but no change to the sound. I have deleted the entire entry installed by the sound driver, no joy there. This problem it seems is not going to be fixed by this kind of thing, i need to know what has been corrupted and where it is. Im hoping that if i can delete everything and reinstall things might work but i dont know where to start....

Win7 pro 64 bit. Geforce RTX2060. Intel I7 6700k. 32gigs. The sound is the on board sound chip that came with the mobo ROG asus ranger 7.

Help pls :)

There are some files in c:\Windows\System32\config\RegBack but i dont know how to use them or if its possible to restore from them. The most recent is dated 2019 :(

Which is newer than the audio driver itself. How do i open these files to see the contents?

In the registry i see "current control set" but above that in the tree i see "control set 001" and "control set 002" which appear to be either copies or backups of "current control set" It is as far as i can tell identicle to current control set, is there any way i can use this? Copy it over perhaps?

I also have a yellow warning on my "plug and play software device enumerator" listed under system devices in device manager. It is reporting teh same code 19. Its not a driver issue its a "wont start" issue.

    sfc /scannow gave no results.

You use a System Restore point date which is before you deleted the registry key.

A restore is not an option. I dont think it ever was but my last 5 restore points are me uninstalling and reinstalling the audio driver :(

The one and only way this is going to be fixed is for the configuation info itself to be edited or deleted and recreated. IMO. But i dont know where that informtion is.
