Will custom metadata be available in production version and when for SharePoint Online indexing in Cognitive Search?

The SharePoint indexing in Cognitive search is currently in preview and it seems that it doesn't get custom metadata but only defined properties from the documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/search/search-howto-index-sharepoint-online.

Question is, will custom metadata be available sooner (in preview or production version) and when will that be?

Thanks for reaching here and asking question ! I have reached out to PG and the information shared is- We do have plans to eventually support pulling custom metadata using the SharePoint Online indexer. This functionality will be added to the indexer while it’s in preview but we don’t have an exact ETA for when it will be added.

Just like you said, custom metadata is not included in the current version of the preview. For now I have not heard any information about any future plan about this feature. You may open a support ticket about this topic for more information.
