i am using an LG OLED C2 UHD 4K tv as my monitor

RX 6600

Intel i3 12100f

32gb ddr4 ram 2666

My desktop and all video apps (and EDGE browser) freeze and stutter when i have HDR enabled and work perfectly when HDR is turned OFF.

I wanted to know why would HDR cause my apps to stutter (mouse freezes in place and than shoots across the screen, only to freeze again)

Auto HDR ON and HDR OFF works fine

Auto HDR ON and HDR ON cause stuttering

    Hi AnimeGamerWeeb,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community. Welcome.

The first step I would suggest you to try an older version of the display driver and see if it helps, as HDR is controlled by the display driver.

Please see the Display driver troubleshooting below:

Option 1: Try Rolling back the Display driver.

Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.

Navigate to Display devices and expand it. Right-click the Display adapter.

    Choose Properties.

On the Driver tab, click the Rollback Driver button to go back to the previous version.

Option 2. Remove drivers completely and Install the newest ones available from the OEM or the maker.

    What you need to do:

    1. Uninstall everything of Display driver using DDU

    1. Reboot.
    2. Make sure your device manager shows Microsoft Basic Display adapter.
    3. Run Windows updates and install the latest Display driver.
    4. Wait for the process to complete.
