Ping spike every 5 seconds.

Hi everyone,

On the second pc we have, there is wifi. It's a computer with windows 10.

The ping is perfect when it start up, and if nothing is done on it, nothing happen.

But when i'm playing, about ~30 minutes into the game, the problem start. It's like every 5 seconds there is a spike, to 20 ms constant to 800 ms sometimes.

In the same time, my other PC is connected by cable to the box, and it's fine, nothing wrong here, even when i'm playing etc.

So it's only related to my first pc with wifi.

And when the problem start, even when i'm done playing, it keep goin forever.

Then i tried some stuff from internet, like reboot internet, change wifi channel, and now, i'm trying this :

- Open Services (Press Windows key + R then type in services.msc then click OK) -Look for WLAN Autoconfig and WWAN Autoconfig> Right-Click Properties and set it to automatic (If it's already set to automatic, right-click then click stop then start it again)

WLAN was already on automatic, and WWAN on manual.

I turned off wlan and turned on again, and set wwan on automatic.

It seems everytime the wifi is cut and back on, the problem is gone. Until i start a new game.

Hi,

WWAN has nothing to do with your problem.

Try to temporarily connect that pc via network cable as well and see if the ping spikes are still there or not.

Are the pc and the router in the same room or are they in separate rooms? Are the 2 devices on the same floor of the house or are they on different floors? Specify the brand and model of the PC and the model of the wireless network card.
