PC stuck on setup screen

I was using my computer before my screen flashed and i caught the word “driver” appearing briefly on my screen before my computer restarted and the “Windows Setup” screen appeared. I clicked “Install now”, “i don’t have a product key”. I’m asked to choose which version of windows I want to install - i click “windows 10” -I was using windows 11 before that but only windows 10 options were available.

They then ask me if i want the upgrade or custom installation. The upgrade one doesn’t work because “the upgrade option isn’t available if you start your computer using windows installation media”

I clicked custom but it said that it couldn’t find any drives

I’ve tried going into command prompt to use SFC and DISM but it says “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation”

Can anyone help me with this? I’m at my wits end

Hello, I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

Do you have Windows installation media connected, because that screen you describe has choices that are usually only on the booted media.

I will show you how to use the built-in WinRE Repair Mode or bootable media to do all possible repairs for Windows 11, leading up to if necessary creating a new Admin account, doing a Reset or gold standard Clean Install:

Everything needed is there to get Windows back up and running again. Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.

Hi, thanks for helping me with this. I don't have any windows installation media plugged in. The whole process happened out of the blue so I'm really confused why this happened. Should I follow the instructions in the link you posted?
