I am experiencing no Event Errors on Window 11 22H2 (build 2261.1194 yet the applications on system lock up after about four hours of heavy use . There is only the warning which windows expert says is nothing to worry about . I have tried to flash the MAG Z90 TOMAHAWK WIFI but the bios update only finds folders not an update for the bios. I note others are experiencing this problem with only seeing folders on bios update and there is no resolution being given.

    Hi Max,
I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

It can be various reasons for the lock up. Do you have to reboot and start over?

Have you checked System Logs and filtered errors?

Tell us if the issu exists in a clean boot state:

    Hello,

MSI has the following resources you can check to update BIOS:

    Summit D - IA,

no the bios update is extracted from the zip file . I extracted it to another folder and selected E7D91IMS.140.and sent it to the D: drive in fact I tried HP 8GB Fat 32/NTFS, HP 16GB Fat 32/NTFS and 32GB USB devices completing a whole USB format dropping on the single file E7D91IMS.140. The only objects which can be seen in the devices drives are folders not files. I am aware others have this problems on different boards and am wondering how to fix this with specific kit A youtube video suggested removing ram and pressing bios update on back of board but this does not find this either. On the BIOS is the default E7D91MS.H00 dated 21/09/2022 there is fourteen updates on this board which did not come on it when it was bought from SCAN, I asked Adrian to try to see if he experienced same problems flashing the bios of one of their boards .

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks Max. I would go by the suggestion of updating BIOS. Is the BIOS a zip file? If so, have you tried extracting it in a folder?

    Hi Sumit,

Its a brand new system born less than 7 days ago currently your Create Media Tool that creates USB drive installer does not create an installer that will create Network 5 drivers on the MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard this was installed less than a week a go on a clean boot from DVD installers as there was no other way to install . That said the Microsoft Windows 11 Pro DVD disk had no boot sector on it so could not be installed without Windows 10 clean install first. Yes I checked System Events but only have warnings and some Errors which I listed below :

Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing/Admin Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing Date: 2/9/2023 4:47:59 AM Event ID: 2 Task Category: Session Level: Error Keywords: Session User: SYSTEM Computer: DESKTOP Description: Session "PerfDiag Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035 Event Xml: http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> 2 0 2 2 12 0x8000000000000010 7 Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing/Admin DESKTOP PerfDiag Logger 3221225525 8388736

This seems to suggest disabling Error Code: 0XC0000035 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-E88ypaskA

    By disabling key Enabled at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\EventLog-System{....}

0x8080000000000000. I have read that it is a software issue and is not related to hardware. I have tried in the command prompt: sfc /scannow,  although SFC found no errors so i have not run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth, and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:repairSource\install.wim

I note the 0xC00000D4 Windows failed fast startup

which is sometimes activated by crashes.

I have also asked Adrian at scan to try update another board at scan to see how he gets on in the hope he can provide a method and what usb drive he used which could be purchased for successful bios update
