I bought my Lenovo Idea Pad from Costco. It came installed with Windows 11. Something has happened and now it is requiring a BitLocker key. I have never gotten this before. How do I get this?

I see. Elizabeth, when you got the computer from Costco, did you have someone there help you set it up? If so, unfortunately the bitlocker key is stored with that person's Microsoft account, even if you have switched to your account later in Windows.

Do you recall getting the computer and having to set up language, time zone, all that very initial set up?

    Hi Emily,

I have checked my Microsoft account and it says 'You don't have any BitLocker recovery keys uploaded to your Microsoft account.' I have checked my husband's account as well. When we got the laptop from Costco, it came already installed with Windows. We don't recall this Bit Locker key bit at all.

    Hello Elizabeth, this is Emily.

Have you signed into your Microsoft account to see if it is here? You can do that on a different device or your smart phone.

Make sure it is the account you used to set up your computer with. https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoveryk...
