Thanks it worked :D
What do i do?
See what happened to me was that I got bored with my old file explorer, so I decided to install the app named 'files' from the Microsoft store. But after using it for a while I was regretting my choice because it was very slow. So I decided to uninstall it and use our normal file explorer, but when I uninstalled it and tried opening my regular file explorer it said: "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or if one is already installed, create an association in the default app settings page". Now, what do I do? I have already tried using the /sfc/scannow command. Also the app I installed asked me to set it as my default app. I can still use my file explorer but I can't open it with the shortcut. I have to right-click on the shortcut and click on downloads then I can use my file explorer. But I still can't open folders. to open them I have to right-click on them and click on open. Also, there is a new option named 'open in files'. Pls, help me because it's very annoying that I have to right-click every time I need to open any folder.

Download these 3 reg files:

https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials...
Right click each of those Registry files and select 'Merge', then confirm the merge.
When those 3 files have been merged, restart (not shut down) your PC to apply those changes, then check if you can open a folder or drive in File Explroer.

I am Dave, I will help you with this.
You will need to re-install the Files App from the Microsoft Store.
Then open the settings in that app and go to the 'Experimental' section
Turn off this option - 'files as default file manager'
Then you can uninstall the Files App and File Explorer should work again.
Thanks, but there is a problem. When I installed the files app it free but now it is paid so I cannot install it. Also there is no way I am going to spend money on something which I am not even going to use. Isn't there any other way?
