I can't install apps that need edge to function. it says "the newest version of edge is needed for this app to function." I have installed edge from both the Microsoft store and from the web.

I see. I've uploaded the Reddit Appx offline installer to my OneDrive. (Download link)

The official Microsoft Link is here. this link will expire 10 minutes from now, so my OneDrive link was provided as an alternative.

SHA1: 44383302909e4cb0c94ced0e2d879fe432078512 782.22 KB

After downloading, rename the file as "redditTV.Reddit_1.0.1.0_neutral_~_99kbdge22ed1a.msixbundle" and run it.

Reddit installs fine here, tested in Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2, with and without Edge WebView2 on each system.

Running get-appxpackage *edge* -allusers from elevated PowerShell shows the output below:

    https://pastebin.com/V1YsCLKT

If you get the same output, you may consider running a ProcMon trace. Start the trace, install Reddit and let it fail, and immediately stop tracing. Save all events to a PML format log file. Zip the log and share it on OneDrive.

Also, please upload the output file c:\appx.log after running the following command from admin PS:

    • get-appxlog -all | out-file 'c:\appx.log'

    Hi Tristan,

Can you tell me the name of the web app you're trying to install? Is that app available from the Store?
