Windows Hello on Apps

I have windows hello set up on my Inspiron 13 running windows 11 using the fingerprint sensor. I use my fingerprint to sign into things on chrome, but recently when I click on "use biometrics" and the windows hello popup comes up it asks for a hardware passkey which I have never set up or used before. There is no way to use the fingerprint sensor for it. The fingerprint sensor still works to unlock the computer. I'd appreciate any help solving the issue.

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    I'm glad to help you.

If your computer is working fine for logging into Microsoft sites and unlocking your computer, you might start with chrome. Have you made any recent changes to chrome? For example, having installed some extension plug-ins, etc., may also affect the biometrics function, you can try to create a chrome privacy mode window, to exclude the extension problem caused.

If you need more help, please don't hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards
