Double keyboard?

Anonymous
2023-03-04T11:09:30+00:00

I have multiple languages and keyboards installed on my laptop.

I have ENG (United States) with an US keyboard

ITA with an IT keyboard

NOB with a Norwegian keyboard.

I don't understand why when I installed the Swedish language pack I now have:

SWE (Sweden) with a SV keyboard

BUT ALSO

SWE (Sweden) with an IT keyboard.

Why is that and how do I delete the second one? If I go to my settings, everything seems normal, and under the Swedish language pack I only have a Swedish keyboard.

Thanks.

    Hi Stefaniay,

    That sounds like good news.

It seems to be related to synchronization, please continue to use as normal and watch to see if the problem reappears.

None of Microsoft's support pages specifically mention syncing keyboard layouts with installed languages, but only "language preferences" are mentioned, which would be a great find if confirmed.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

I solved the problem. I had another laptop which had the Swedish language pack but no keyboard installed. That is weird, because it worked nonetheless. However, when I installed the Swedish keyboard on that laptop, this one with the double keyboard synchronized the settings and one of the two disappeared. I didn't know this setting was synchronized across multiple pcs.

    Hello Stefaniay,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am trying to restore your problem as best I can, but unfortunately, after I added multiple languages, I added Swedish language pack, but I don't see multiple SWE keyboards, only one is displayed.

I'm not sure if this is a bug for you, but if it's convenient, could you please click on the language icon on the taskbar and send me all the screenshots of the keyboard layout for confirmation? In the meantime, please click on the Start menu -- Settings -- Time and Language -- Language and Region, and send me screenshots of all the languages added to this page so that I will not miss any details.

    Best regards,
