Missing X icon when hovering program on taskbar

Hi,

I am seeing an empty box in place of various icons in Windows 10, most notably the X icon when hovering a program on the taskbar. I tried clearing my iconcache but it did not work.

    Thank you for the response.

    Try these steps.

    Click the Windows logo then type cmd then right-click the search result then click run as administrator.

    Next, copy and paste this command into the command prompt then press enter.

    reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\IrisService /f && shutdown -r -t 0

    Restart the system after that.

    Check if the issue will still persists after the restart.
