Hello! I am a windows user. Recently I am experiencing the need to share mobile data from my laptop to other devices. I have a D-link modem via which I access Cellular data. Now I want to share this data via hotspot to my mobile.

I have used the mobile hotspot function. But it shows this error even when I am connected to my cellular network:

How can I solve this? Can any expert user please help me with this problem. Fast reply will be appreciated.

    Hi Windows user5678,

but can you connect to the internet via that D-link modem? What is the exact model of the modem?

Go to Network Connections, right click on the D-link modem connection> Properties> Sharing tab, post the screenshot.

    Thanks for replying.

yes I can connect cellular data through that modem. The D-link modem model is : DWP-157

Here is the Screenshots of the Sharing tab that you wanted.

I have already been adviced to click on " Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" option.

But that still didn't fix the problem.

    Hi Windows user5678,

no, those checkboxes on the Sharing tab must remain unchecked or the mobile hotspot won't work. The current setting is correct.

But previously did Internet Sharing work on your laptop with that modem or did it never work?

Try disabling / re-enabling the wireless network adapter on your laptop and then try again.

Otherwise, go to Settings> Network and Internet> Status, click Network Reset on the right side, follow the instructions.
