Hi I have a. Windows 10 pc. this morning I turned on my PC and then when I login. It said me hibernating. Then my PC was auto shut down. Then I again turned on then it said incorrect pin then I had to reset my pin.I know that my pin was correct but last time I had updated windows so I think that's a bug. So why did it Hibernate when I shut it down?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!

Hello, OmPawar1 I'm an independent advisor and I will try to help you today.

Regarding your query, it is important that you know that the hibernation option makes the computer save all the processes, tasks and jobs on the hard disk, this to turn off the system and that in the next restart you will be in the same again point where you left it when coming out of hibernation. The time it takes to come out of hibernation depends on the number of processes that are open and the resources of the computer.

If we have a laptop, it may be that even though you gave the option to turn it off, you closed it before it completed that process, then it never turns off if not it remains in hibernation.

In Windows 10, select Start, then Settings> System> Start / Shutdown & Sleep> Additional Power Settings.

Select Choose the behavior of the power button, and then select Change currently unavailable settings. In Settings of the shutdown button or close the lid, make sure that the Hibernate box is not activated, and then select Save changes.

I hope this information will be useful. Stay tuned to reply

Hi. Thanks for your answer. At that time My laptops battery was low. Now I charged it fully and again turned it on. Now its working perfectly and I also have a question why did it tell me that my pin is incorrect?? Is that because of a update or something else?

Another option is to make hibernation unavailable, to do this, do the following:

    1. Press the Windows keys + x
    2. Select Windows PowerShell (Administrator)
    3. At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe / hibernate off, and then press Enter.
    4. Type exit, then press Enter to close the command prompt window.
