Blank Windows Security

Hello Everyone,

Windows Security is the only antivirus that I use right now. But I have a problem when opening it. Every time I open it, it showed me this.

Then, I searched everywhere for a solution and they said to open services and find Windows Security Service then start it. But I can't do that too cause the option was greyed out like this.

My Security Center is still running when I checked it in the services. I am using Windows 10 version 20H2. Please help me find the solution for this. I have been stressed out for hours, so please help me with this thing.

Hi Ikhlas,

The three services that are required for Defender to function are:

Security Center  It should be running and set for Automatic (delayed) start.

Microsoft Defender Antivirus Service.  Running and set for Automatic start.

Windows Security Service   Running and set for Manual start.

It appears that your problem is with Windows Security Service. However, this service may

affect the other two as well. So make sure that all three are OK, when you finish.

Windows Security Service is also known as SecurityHealthService and it has probably

been disabled.  You should download a free copy of MalwareBytes and perform a full scan

before proceeding to enable the service. Set it to "Scan for Rootkits".

You can find the Service in the Registry, and repair the thing causing it to be disabled.

Enter the Registry by searching for "regedit", then select "Run as Administrator". In the

Registry Editor navigate to the following branch.

**Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet**and expand S ervices.  Scroll down to

SecurityHealthService and select it.  In the right pane, find the "Start" sub-key.

The Dword value for this sub-key should be 3. If it is not, Modify it to 3 by right-clicking

Start and choose Modify.  Then type 3 and click OK. Exit the Registry by retracing the steps

that you used to navigate in.  At HKLM click "File" then "Exit".

Restart your PC and verify that all three of the Services are OK. If Security Center is not running,

you should be able to start it now.  Microsoft Defender Antivirus Service should be running.

If it should happen to be missing, see the following link for the resolution.

Windows Security Service should be enabled.

Good luck,  Glen
