Monitor flickering when using MS Whiteboard

Hi there,

My monitor goes black every time I start a stoke in MS Whiteboard. It happens to every Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga X1 from 2020 that I have checked(16GB RAM and Intel i7 gen 8), the version from last year didn't have the issue.

I tried everything from this thread:

In addition to this, I also found some interesting things:

• It only happened to the computers bought this year.
• The screen doesn't flicker if I use the rainbow colored pen.
• It only flickers at the start of a stroke, it never happens after the stroke is underway.

Please I need some help. We used to use this tool a lot, the fact that all of us can draw in the same page was great and the management of multiple drawings is a very nice feature. Now the tool is useless in my company because of this.

Hello

Try using a ruler, IT MAY SOLVE THE PROBLEM TEMPORARLY TILL MICROSOFT FIX THE PROBLEM. This method will work with solid colors and my laptop Acer Nitro 5 with high end graphics is facing the same problem so don't worry your laptop is okay it is a glitch in app that Microsoft soon will solve.

I'm having the exact same problem on a Thinkpad L13 Yoga that I just received today.  The solid color pens cause the screen to momentarily black out when starting a pen stroke.  The rainbow pens, highlighter, and eraser do not.  Bizarre!

When I use the windows ink feature to take a screenshot and then use the markup in Snip & Sketch, I get the same behavior so it seems this may be a windows ink bug, not specific to whiteboard?

I have the same problem, I have gone through lots of solutions, none have worked with me. The problem actually looks like it's associated with the graphics card. I have intel i7 8th generation. When I uninstall the graphics card driver everything works fine, there is no flickering but you can't adjust your laptop brightness. plus, this problem is only associated with Microsoft applications. when you use other applications such as Drawboard pdf...etc everything works great! 

I hope windows will consider this ASAP.

I have this problem with MS Whiteboard w/ Win 10 fully updated, graphics-driver updated, etc. etc. The screen flickers whenever drawing (any color) on the whiteboard with my Mouse or pen. Most annoying.

I did, however, discover a workaround:

1. Bring up an entirely black, full-screen image or background (on both screens if you have dual-monitors).
2. Then place Whiteboard in one of the screens without covering the entire screen (i.e., not full screen mode), so that the black background shows around Whiteboard.
3. Now draw using your mouse or pen and the flickering will go away.

So far (2 days in), the Whiteboard ink drawing works w/o flickering until I reboot, at which point I have to repeat the black screen steps above.

Would love if anyone w/ technical knowledge could explain why this happens. Meanwhile, I hope this helps other distressed users.

I have the same issue and that happened after I updated to version 1909. The earlier version was working perfectly fine.

I tried all the uninstall and reinstall, but it did not help.

Please help!
