Sync problems - how to unsync

We have two desktops which were bought on the same day and registered on the same day, etc.  Since then there is no way to "unsync" them.  For example, when my husband deletes any app, link or file from his desktop, then mine is deleted too.  And any app, link or file I add to my computer shows up on his, and vice versa.  We have tried unsyncing via moving the sync botton to off, but nothing changes.  Any help out there?

    Hi VickyHoffmann,

Sounds like both pc's are signed on with the same Microsoft Account, one way to have your own settings is to add an extra account to your pc.

If you already have your own Microsoft account, you can add it in settings under accounts\other accounts

If not you can create your own at https://account.microsoft.com (select Create a Microsoft account)

Once you added your own account you will be able to select your own account when the pc starts and have your own desktop.

Hi! My name is Anderson Souza. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, I'll be glad to help you today.

Are you both using the same Microsoft account to log into your respective computers? The suggestion would be for each one to use a different account to log on to the computer. Even better if one of you used a local computer account, this way no synchronization would take place between accounts, see the procedures below:

I hope this information is helpful. please keep me updated on the status of this issue. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will be glad to help you.

If the suggestion helped you, you can also help other users with questions similar to yours, just click "Yes" in the question "Did this solve the problem?"

    Thank you.
