The past few days, I’ve had drive errors popping up nonstop from Windows’ Security and Maintenance. It happened right after a night where shutting off took a while longer than usual. How do I make it stop? It’s been causing my applications to not respond frequently.

Ok, Eugene in that case you have to check the errors on the disk and try to repair them. To do this, follow the steps that I indicate below:

    1. Open the file explorer and in the menu on the left select "This computer"

There it shows the devices and drives of the computer

    1. Now you will go to Local Disk C (that is your hard disk), you will right-click on it and select the last option called "Properties"
    2. A window will open, select the "Tools" tab
    3. There you see "Error Checking", you must select the "Check" button
    4. A window will open and you must click on the option "Examine Unit"

The computer will automatically begin to examine the hard drive, this process may take several minutes. When the analysis is finished, the system will give you the results. If it finds a problem, it will most likely send you to restart your computer to try to repair it.

I hope it can be of help. I'm at your dispose

I know it’s a disk error because Microsoft’s Security and Management sends me a notification informing me to restart to fix disk errors. When there’s an error, until I restart, my applications will freeze and not respond maybe once every 3 minutes. It doesn’t give me any info other than that I need to restart my pc.

Hi, I'm an independent advisor, and I'm here to help you.

In order to help you with your application, it is necessary to answer the following questions: How do you know it is a disk error? What happens at the time of the error? Does the error provide any code or identification that you can send me?

I hope it can be of help. At your service,

    Jesus C.
