Hello,

When using SQL Server 2014, in the SQL Configuration Manager, the SQL Server service is stopped. I tried to start it, but I get a timeout error: 'The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.'

Please let me know if you can solve this issue.

Thanks,

May I suggest that you try asking in the SQL forum here? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/produc...

    Hi,

For the SQL Server 2014 timeout error, I also tried going to Log On in the Properties window of the SQLEXPRESS service in SQL Configuration Manager. I tried changing it to Built-in Account and selecting Local System. I got an error: 'The group name could not be found [0x800708ac].' Please let me know if you can help with this problem.

    Thanks,

    Zahra

    Hi,

I tried starting the service from "services.msc" but that didn't work. Please let me know how I can change the login user for the service or any next steps.

    Thanks,

Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

Could you try start it directly from services.msc ? If that doesn’t work you may need to change the login user for the service.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
