Windows Update -- Installed Incorrectly?

Hello,

I believe I may have had some sort of an error, and so the recent feature update, 20H2, didn't install correctly. I clicked to install it today, and it sat at Installing-0% for a while, until I accidentally clicked pause updates. When I resumed and it stopped loading, I saw the option to install a regular cumulative update, which it did, and then the option reappeared to install 20H2. When I clicked it however, it just disappeared. I restarted my computer, and, although the features have been updated, in OS Build Info, although it shows 20H2, it shows the date I installed the last feature update, 2004, and it does not show in Feature Updates in Update History. Does this mean something has gone wrong, and what steps should I take?

Edit: It shows in Control Panel in Installed Updates, but not in the Settings app. Is there some way I can perform a refresh to make it recognize the new update and date?

Did you try to run update from site mentioned above?

And please turn off fast startup for one boot holding Shift key pressed when you select Turn off command.

It shows me as having successfully upgraded, so maybe there is no issue. Perhaps this issue will work itself out over time; I'll see if Windows Update stops infinitely loading after time, and wait to see if the next update cycle will perhaps fix it. I'll reply again if this isn't the case.

However, I still have Update and shut down and Update and restart in the power menu, and my updates show as paused with no option to resume because of the infinite loading, but I've changed the pause date to tomorrow in advanced settings. Again, maybe this will resolve itself.

Thank you for the prompt response, Igor. However, I can also not find it in Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update > Update History, which confuses me a little bit. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but nothing has changed. Also, when I check for updates, I am stuck with the loading dots, and I still have update and shut down and update and restart in the power menu, although when I click on them it restarts with no change.

    Hi,

I'm Independent Advisor not Microsoft employee or support person. I have deep enough Windows knowledge and you may trust me. It's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

20H2 is almost the same as 2004 with very minor difference. It is reported already sometimes update keep the date of 2004 installing.

Is the date the only thing confuses you? If yes you may safely ignore it.
