Missing "device" type" under Printer properties/Device settings Windows 10

I have Windows 10 up to date. Problem is no ability to change Device type under the above tabs.

There should be an option to change it, I am told to make sure it recognises my printer as COLOUR.

Hi James, thank you for that.

I have already done that process, twice.

I have now re-installed the printer using a USB  connection. It works but It does not work wirelessly.  Given up on that as it would only print in grayscale from my laptop. (It used to until about 10 days ago).   It printed in colour from all mobile devices. Weird.

    Thanks

Let's try going in and changing your default print job settings:

    1. Search in the Start Menu for 'Control Panel'.
    2. Open it, then click Devices and Printers under Hardware and Sound.
    3. Right-click the icon for your printer, then click Printer properties.
    4. Click the Advanced tab, then click Printing Defaults.
    5. Change any settings you want as defaults in the Printing Defaults window, then click OK.
    6. Now restart your Laptop and then you can check if the issue persist.

    Have a great day!
