Hi there,

Had two shut downs recently randomly to a black screen checking files. Tonight i've had the blue screen of death. I have done a CMD scan and got this error message: "windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix it some of them." It told me to check the CBS log.

So i did:

000028d [SR] Could not reproject corrupted file ??\C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\System.Design.dll; source file in store is also corrupted

Could not reproject corrupted file ??\C:\WINDOWS\System32\wuuhext.dll; source file in store is also corrupted

I'd imagine my hard drive is screwed so i'm preparing for the worse. I've only this pc two years too!

Hey there David! You can check this video tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP4sAhmH_Oo

It's completely accurate until minute 3:00.

Yes, that should be it!

Hey there David!

You're going to install it in an USB, so choose the second option.

I think it should let you go through without license key. Just press "Skip" or "Next". It will automatically adjust after.

Hey there David!

DISM has given so many errors looking for the corrupted files it had to download. I think it'd be the best if we do a clean OS reinstall (keeping personal files) since these problems can go bigger and bigger seeing the quantity of corrupted files.

We will just follow the steps I stated above for reinstalling Windows!

Tell me how it goes! Hugs,

Miguel Ángel :)

    Hey there David!

My name is Miguel Ángel and I'm an independent advisor, also a Microsoft user just like you! Let's try to help you with your issue today!

You've said you've experienced some blue screens, right? In order to give a proper diagnostic, I'll need the minidump files which are located in C:\Windows\Minidump. You can upload them either to OneDrive or to WeTransfer.

Let's see if we can see where the issue comes from.

I'll wait for your answer. Hugs,

    Miguel Ángel :)
