Defrag not working

I have a Windows 10 Desktop personal computer. When I go to the start button, Windows Administrative Tools, then click on Defrag nothing happens. The disk cleanup works but the defrag just goes away. What's up?

    What version and build of Windows 10 do you have currently. Type winver in Search and select the top result, post back a screenshot or quote the version and build in your reply.

    I suggest that you run the System File Checker to check if there are corrupted files which might be causing this problem. Follow the steps on this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/usi...

    After the verification is complete, restart your PC and see if defrag still won't work.

    Please let me know if this does not work or if you've tried this already. I might have another possible solution to try after this one.

    I tried to respond many days ago but it didn't work. I tried your suggestions above . The defrag still does not work. Hope your other possibility will work. Thank you for responding.

    I tried everything that you suggested. Did the reboot and it just sat there as if I did nothing. What was your other suggestion? Just can't get this defrag to work. Thank you.
