Good day WilliamClark842! I am Independent Advisor Paul R. and also a Microsoft/Windows user like you and I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. I understand that you are looking into reinstalling the built-in webcam for your Dell Inspiron laptop.

Kindly check and try the steps below and see how it goes.

    • Check first if the webcam is showing in Device Manager under Imaging Devices and to go there press Windows key + r and this will open the run box and type in there devmgmt.msc and press OK or hit Enter
    • If you are able to locate the webcam then click on Start > Settings > Apps and look for Dell Webcam Central and click on it and uninstall it and after the process restart the laptop
    • In the event that you do not have the Dell Webcam Central you can go to the link below for the download (you will also use this link if you were able to uninstall it from the previous step)

    • Once the Dell Webcam Central has been installed, check again your webcam

Look in Device Manager to see if there.  If not go into your BIOS and see if activated.  If not Activate it then into Device Manager and check driver.
