Is there any documentation on the details of Quick Assist security? What encryption does it use? Is the session encrypted point-to-point or is it decrypted on the servers? Does Microsoft store any of the data that passes through it's servers?

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William, I’m an Independent Advisor. I'll be happy to help you out today.

There is no whitepaper or security documentation that I can find, but from what I can gather, Quick Assist communicates over port 443, so in that respect the connection would be secure on both endpoints. However, to facilitate the connection between both endpoints, traffic pass through a Microsoft server as the service is cloud-based. As for what data is collected, I would assume the standard info like hardware, location, and various other metrics, which are buried in the Microsoft Privacy Statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystat...
