Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard Sleep mode

I recently purchased a Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard but similarly to others, my keyboard goes to sleep every 10 seconds. It's driving me nuts. There's some helpful information out there but unfortunately it doesn't really help me because I have my keyboard hooked up to a MacBook Pro. The systems are completely different so I have no idea what I'm doing. I contacted support from both Microsoft and Apple but they both told me to get help from the other company. So that's fun. It is literally driving me insane and I'm considering returning it if I can't turn off sleep mode. 

PLEASE help.

    Hello Meghan , sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I am independent advisor. So, I will do my best to help you.

    Try this... Righ-click on the Windows start menu and select " Device manager "

    In the new windows, expand " Keyboard "

    Right-click on the drivers and select " Properties "

    Go in " Power management " tab and uncheck " Allow the computer to turn off this deivce to save power "

    Then, click OK
