Cannot install Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 normally

Hello everyone, I have installed Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 Enterprise Edition on WIN10 and I have not been able to install it
It’s the same after the system has been refilled five times. I have also tried various first to remove the VC version and install VC2013, VC2015_VC2017_VC2019.

WINDOWS UPDATE is the latest

There are errors in the attachment, please help again, thank you!

Hi,
I had the same issue as @Lee (same errors but I was trying to install VS 2015 Express)
I downloaded _mu_visual_studio_2015_update_3_x86_x64_dvd_8923065.iso_ from the official site.

Installing vs2015.3.exe caused the same errors. After one failed attemp, inside iso:
Run as administrator: _ServicedSetupPayloads\OfflineCache\installers\VSU_14.0.25420\en\0\vsupdate_KB3022398.exe /uninstall_
When the installer ask to remove or repair, choose repair.

Hello, can you explain the steps what do you mean by 'Run as administrator: ServicedSetupPayloads\OfflineCache\installers\VSU_14.0.25420\en\0\vsupdate_KB3022398.exe /uninstall'? where do we run this?

Uninstall vs2015.3 via DOS command
You can login PC as a admin role then execute the DOS command by 'vsupdate_KB3022398.exe /uninstall'
or open DOS command screen with 'run as administrator' then execute the DOS command by 'vsupdate_KB3022398.exe /uninstall'

Reinstall vs2015.3
Choose 'repair' when the installer ask to 'remove' or 'repair'.

Everything else written about this problem failed, but this worked. Thanks so much.

My error message was "... operation being requested was not performed because the user has not logged on to the network"

Besides, sometimes, other third-party extensions/applications may prevent the installation process, please check if you installed some of them, if yes, please try to disable them and reinstall VS 2015 again.

Also, please update your Windows OS to the latest version with newly security and components (KB) packages, and if there are some Windows Update related errors, please fix them first.

I've tried to follow https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/report?space=8&entry=problem, but receive: "Microsoft Connect Has Been Retired" when I run this from a system running Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows Desktop (x86) - DVD (English) Released: 15-Apr-21.

Instead, this thread is already relevant to the problem we have.
It seems the ISO available from Visual Studio Downloads (Released: 15-Apr-21) is failing to install KB3022398 (Visual Studio 2015 Update 3).

The failure may be related to missing:
\packages\wdexpress_full\Preparation.exe

Or:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/9/D/59D3DF4E-AB5B-47A5-A78A-26B7AFF837DC/enu_dvd/packages/preparation.exe

The workaround identified in this thread works: Using the standalone Update 3 ISO, run the KB3022398.

A separate side note: We have installed using the workaround on a number of AWS hosted Windows Server 2012 R2 systems. Upon invoking the complier as part of VS2015, we have had each OS corrupt meaning we have had to rebuild each system. W2016 is OK.

Hi,
I have found a solution by myself. First disconnect the network and install "vs2015.3.ent_enu", then connect to the network after installation, and then install "mu_visual_studio_2015_update_3_x86_x64_dvd_8923065" to upgrade to avoid the problem, thank you.

Got a little different problem, update 3 requires a member of VS 2015 family installed. However, the oldest version I could find on MS website was this update 3 (mu_visual_studio_2015_update_3_x86_x64_dvd_8923065.iso) I am really stuck here for some days.

@Jawad Mansoor It is likely that you are trying to install an update to a product (VS2015) that is not installed on your system.
