I keep getting an error message when I try to remote desktop connect.  It says could not connect to another console session on the remote computer because you already have a console session in progress.  Can someone please help?

Thanks again for the return. Just to discard the previously proposed solution once and for all, if you use VPN for remote access to the office (I assume the remote station is there) or make use of virtualization programs like VirtualBox, etc. When typing ipconfig, several IPs must have appeared on different interfaces on your computer, none of which corresponded to the remote computer, right?

If this is the case, and as you mentioned that you were not the one who set up remote access at the office station, my recommendation now is to seek your company's IT support so that it can more accurately solve your problem. I say this because it may be necessary to change settings on your remote computer, or change settings of the VPN network, in short, some factors can interfere in the solution and we will not have the means to intervene.

Anyway, I will release your question so that another consultant can evaluate it and who knows, help you better than me. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. To determine the remote IP of the station, open a command prompt and enter the command

    ping RemoteComputerName

Replace RemoteComputerName with the host name of the remote computer.

And to determine your IP type in the Prompt

    ipconfig

To open the command prompt click on the Windows Start Button and type CMD.

    Hello Anderson,

Yes the remote computer is a windows 10 pro workstation I believe.  This is my first time trying to access this remote desktop connection.  I did not do the set up.  I looked at the link and followed along but can't tell if my local computer has the same IP address as the remote computer.

Hi! My name is Anderson Souza. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, I'll be glad to help you today.

Is the remote computer you are trying to access also a Windows 10 workstation? Have you been able to access this remote computer before? Did you do the remote access setup on that computer yourself?

I will be waiting for the answers. However, take a look at the article below and let me know if the procedures in it help you with your problem:
