Hi! I have windows 10 pro, and I have used windows sandbox already in this computer, currently running windows version 1909.

The problem is that it dissapeard from the start menu and it's nowhere to be found in the windows features list.

How can I get it back?

Thanks!

From your screenshot I see that you don't have English version of Windows. Unfortunately MS has made decision to translate common term "Sandbox" to represent selected language.

Try to find feature matching "Isolated space"  (= 'Espacio aislado de Windows') (or something like that ) on your own language.

See this thread with same issue:

I just can't believe this was the issue. Thing is, I don't know when the translation happened since last time I activated it, it was still named "sandbox" so this time I couldn't find it, amazing.

    Thanks a lot!

    Thank you for answering!

I have performed the following steps:

    1. Run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth in cmd - Succesful.
    2. Run sfc /scannow in cmd. Result: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.3) Enabled Hyper V in programs and features. Succesful.
    3. Tried to enable Windows Sandbox in program and features. Feature missing from the list (as shown in the attached picture).

I tried updating windows to version 2004, but there is a compatibility issue with Nvme SSD disk so I have to wait for the new update, described in

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004#1515msgdesc

What else can I do to get Sandbox back? I was using it normally until now.

The only thing I did was install bluestacks, but I don't know if that caused this issue since I uninstalled it and even did a system restore to a previous restoration point version.

    Thanks in advance!

    Nir.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand the concern as you are unable to find Sandbox on your Windows 10 Pro PC.

In this case, we would suggest you to run SFC scan and after completion attempt to enable Hyper V and check if you see Sandbox, refer this article: System File Checker

We would suggest you to perform the steps as mentioned in these articles and let us know the result:

Windows Sandbox (perform step 2 under Installation section)

    Install Hyper-V on Windows 10

If the issue persists, then we would recommend you to download Windows 10 2004 version installation media (ISO) using the media creation tool on the desktop of the PC and then refer this article by PaulSey to run an in-place upgrade.

Note: Please backup your important data that are saved in C drive to any other local drive or external drive before performing In-place upgrade.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.
