Audio Issues Windows 10

Hi, I recently wiped my boot drive and reset up Windows 10 on my PC. After doing so, I can only get audio to come out of one side of my headphones. I have searched all through the settings but can't seem to fix it. I also tested the headphones on another PC of mine and they work fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this issue?

    Hi Cameron,

I'm Benedict, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Sorry to hear that, I'm here to help you.

Kindly try this troubleshooting guide for sound problems in Windows 10:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/452028...

You could also check your audio balance for left and right speakers of your headphone with this steps: https://win10faq.com/how-to-adjust-audio-balanc...

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

If that's not the case, kindly try updating manually your audio output driver while your headphone is connected:

    1. Open Start Menu.
    2. Type Device Manager and Open it.
    3. Double-Click on the category "Audio inputs and outputs".
    4. Right click on your headphone audio output driver and select "Update Driver".
    5. Next select "Browse my computer for drivers"
    6. Click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".
    7. Make sure the option "Show compatible hardware" is checked.
    8. Select Generic device and click Next. Check your headphone and see if that fixes the issue.

Please let me know if that helps.

    Regards,

    Benedict P.

    Hi Benedict,

I went through the steps at the link you provided and made sure my driver is up to date, but I am still only getting audio out of one side of my headphones.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks, Cameron

    Hi Lui,

I disabled audio enhancements but it did not fix my issue.

However, I did try plugging my headphones into a port on the back of my desktop and both sides of the headphones work. This is not ideal however, do you think this is a hardware issue? Is there any way for me to check?

    Thanks,

    Cameron
