Debug log

I have found a debug log on my desktop. I have no idea what it is or how to make sure my computer is clean and running well. The note pad log says:

[1009/225028.786:ERROR:settings.cc(430)] Settings version is not 5

What should I do?

The debug file is created for Chromium 68x based browsers randomly. There is now an issue entry in Google's bug tracker for Chromium. And maybe it helps to delete the content of the folder Crashpad.

Chromium 68 browsers (Chrome, Edge etc.) create debug.log files

    Hi there,

I discovered a Debug log as well but I don't use Google Chrome. Any advice on what it is and why it is there?

    Hi JoyRainford-Toussaint

    are you using Google chrome?

it has been reported that chrome causes this debug file

it is safe to delete it

and (or if it comes back)

try the solution from DaveM121 in this thread
