I've since tried IrfanView, but, alas, it seems the file's irreparably damaged. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll remember it in the future!
Broken/corrupted file?
I have a file I've been working on in MS Paint for a good few weeks. On the 23rd, I saved it before shutting my computer down, and once I came back on, I noticed I couldn't open the file on MS Paint. It said "Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is currently not supported." It's a PNG. I tried opening it in photos, and I got a similar message, "It looks like we don't support this file format." I tried opening it on onedrive, and it was the same. I can't seem to open it anywhere. The file in question is 1,998 KB in size. I didn't have file restoration on, unfortunately, so I don't quite know what to do.

What I'd do in your shoes is to download a free program called IrfanView (a web search will find it easily). If IrfanView can't read it, it's probably irreparably damaged.
