Why is the 'Square' on bottom LHS of Taskbar showing as BLACK instead of White?

Sorry Carlo. I am starting to lose my coordination and I seem to just finish up with a capital V in the PowerShell instead of the full command.

I will have to give it away for today and possibly physically enter the full details into PowerShell in the next couple of days.

You have at least pointed me in the right direction.

    Good Day BillQRichards,

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, to copy and paste the command,

just highlight the command using your mouse , then to copy it press and hold CTRL and C in your keyboard.

To paste it in the powershell window Press and and hold CTRL and V then press enter to execute the command.

Once done restart for the changes to take effect.

Please let me know how it goes, I'll look forward for your response.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

Thank you Carlo. I'm a bit of a dinosaur so it may take me a while to work out how to copy/paste in PowerShell though I think you may be on the right track. I did have trouble with PowerShell recently and I'm still sorting out my problems.

I can say that the 'Square' is the one to get Settings, Shut Down, etc.

    Good day BillQRichards,

My name is Carlo, I'm an Independent Advisor and community member like you.

I am also using Windows 10 pc. Let us work together to sort this out.

Can you please take a screenshot of the square on the taskbar for me to have a better view which you are referring too.

For the meantime you can try to re- register the shell experience host using powershell.

-Click Start, type powershell and run as administrator.

-Copy and paste the command below and hit enter

    Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Once done restart your device and check if issue persist.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe. I'll look forward for your response.

    With Warm Regards,

    Carlo T.
