I am missing folder in Device Manager.  I have no Port Folder so I can't use Com Ports.  Is there a

way to add Port Folder to Device Manager on my Dell Inspiron Laptop computer?

Hi Stephen,

All hardware ports are shown in the device manager irrespective of there being a driver or not. My laptop also doesn't have a Ports folder.

What exact device are you trying to add?

Thank you for your help.  Yes, I now understand.  I thought I should have a com port folder in Device Manager.  That

folder will be added to device manager if a device is added which needs a com port, duh.  I get it now.  Thanks for your

    help.  Best regards!
