System Restore Points disappeared

I reinstalled Windows 10, and Configured System Restore to "Turn on system protection," and set Max Usage to 260 GB.

Then I created a System Restore Point after each installation of software (Chrome, Office, Zoom, Deluge).

I shut down and restarted Windows.

I periodically checked that the System Restore Points were still listed, and confirmed that I hadn't used a fraction of the Max Usage allocated space.

After two days of everything working fine, I went to create another System Restore Point this morning for peace of mind, and on checking discovered that ALL my previous System Restore Points had disappeared.

This is a repeat of a problem that plagued me before the reinstall. Previous to the reinstall, after having problems following the last Windows Update, I wasn't able to Restore to one of my manually created earlier Restore Points as all my Restore Points had disappeared.

What's going on?

    Hi KAYINFL

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Windows 10 has basically made System Restore obsolete, because it is Windows 10 updates that are deleting your Restore Points

This is done to prevent us from restoring Windows 10 prior to a Windows 10 update, because that would result in the operating System and Registry being a mix of old and new files and registry keys

System Restore is not as needed as it used to be in Windows 10, because unlike previous versions of Windows, it contains a Recovery Environment which allow people to recover from a crash or system corruption, though strangely enough, System Restore is one of those options . . .
