Can't install bluetooth driver

Hello,

I have a Dell Precision M4800 laptop and when I purchased it it said it was Bluetooth capable, however when I open up the device manager I cannot find the Bluetooth icon, I have installed two separate drivers to try and get it to function, but still nothing. The laptop itself even has an indicator light for Bluetooth (just to send home the point of it supposedly being capable). When I use the troubleshooter tool it tells me that the laptop is not capable, I am lost on how to proceed.

    Hi Joshua,

I'm Benedict, an Independent Advisor. I'm here to help you.

Kindly try searching for BIOS update and latest Bluetooth driver as well from the manufacturer's support website. Download and install it, if any. When you successfully updated the BIOS and the Bluetooth function is still missing, try installing the drivers again and see if it will now work.

Please let me know if that works.

    Regards,

    Benedict P.

If your computer was advertised as including Bluetooth capability, but you could not find the Bluetooth capability, it seems to me that the best course of action is to call Dell and ask "where do I find the Bluetooth capability of my computer?" I would certainly recommend this course of action first, before installing software on your own.
