Please try to boot your PC to safemode and check if you can still hear the noise from there.

Here is the link on how to boot to Safemode.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

If you do not hear anything on safemode then it might be software related. But if you still hear it in Safemode then it might be a hardware problem.

Also please try to boot to Sysrtem BIOS and check if you can hear the noise there as well.

Here is how to boot to BIOS.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardwa...

IF in case the noise is present in BIOS, the hardware itself is causing the problem, it may the audio card on the system board itself

    Hi Freds,

Even after trying the method which you had suggested the sound does not seem to disappear. The sound appears everytime start my system. The hissing noise is consistent as soon as I turn on my laptop. The hissing sound seems to be more when I turn on the enhancements in the recording tab under microphone.

Is the hissing noise consistent as soon as you turn on the laptop or it only happens when you play any audio?

And also please turn off Audio enhancements.

Go to Start click on the Settings, then go to System, then Sound, on the right side click on Sound Control panel.

    See screenshot.

Hi K.kanagarajan, my name is Ferdinand, I am an Independent Advisor.

    Please try the steps below.

    Restart the computer.

Hit on Windows key and X on your keyboard and then choose Device Manager.

On the Device Manager, expand Sound video and game controllers, then right click the Sound/Audio (Realtek or AMD or High Deifnition Audio) driver, then click Update Driver, then click Browse my Computer for driver software, then choose Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer, on the next screen you should see a box with the list of drivers for your Audio choose one that has a older date and then click Next, it will Install the driver, once done click close and Restart your PC and then check the sound works on your PC.

If that still would not work please visit the support website of your laptop or desktop and then download and install the latest Audio driver then restart the PC.
