Problem trying to use Kinect v1 with windows 10 (SDK v1.8)

Hi.
I am currently working on a project using kinect with Pure Data via touchdesigner. My computer works with Windows 10. I am using a Kinect v.1 (1414) and I already bought the adapter to use it.
I am kind of new in this world of Kinect, so I am trying to install the proper drivers. I first tried with Kinect SDK v1.6 and it seemed to work, until I realized that for Touchdesigner I was supposed to use the SDK v1.8. I tried to install it unsuccessfully, the drivers don't appear in the device manager, so I tried to go back for the 1.6. What's very strange is that, after uninstalling all drivers and trying to install again the SDK 1.6, The drivers never appeared back... I've installed and uninstalled both versions several times, but it just didn’t work anymore.

I would appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

    Hi Juan,
I’m not sure if this will work since there’s not many related articles about this case. Maybe you can take a look:

    Hi,

I did some research but it seems that there’s no official documents about this issue.
Have you tried rebooting the system? If not, would you give a try?
Also please download the drivers from Microsoft:
For SDK V1.6, please refer to this:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34808

And for SDK V1.8, please refer to this:

    Thanks for your time.
    Best regards,
    Danny

    Dear Danny,
Thank you for answering so fast!

I downloaded the drivers from Microsoft, but they are the ones not working. Yes, I tried rebooting several times (even turning off the laptop completely and unplugging it from current).

Today, I realized that the drivers are there, but the computer is not recognizing the kinect. I know for sure that the hardware is working fine since I installed the libusbK drivers and it worked fine (just not compatible with SimpleOpenNI).

I hope that I can get some input here to make the drivers work again.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Danny:
I finally figured out what was the issue.
There was a conflict with a sound card that I have. As soon as I uninstalled the Focusrite usb driver, the Kinect drivers started working fine!

    Thank you for your help.
