WDF_Violation

Hello,

Since the start of 2021 we have been seeing multiple users with Windows 10 Pro experiencing Stop Code WDF_Violation

I have been making sure all Latest Windows Updates are installed, however the BSOD continues. In each user case I am not seeing any new device drivers installed. Is there a connection with the latest Win 10 Feature Update?

    Hi FFordEAL

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

    1

Are all the PC's the same Make and Model, or are those PC's installed from the same disk image with the same set of software installed?

    2

On one of those PC's, please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes . . .

    Open Windows File Explorer

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

I have a Lenovo yoga 920, and this issue is happening so frequently in 2021, never experienced it before. I have had this laptop for 2.5 years, it is crazy how it crashes randomly, and yes, it is hooked up to a Lenovo Thunderbolt dock.

I have noticed it happens more often on video calls.

    Hi FFordEAL

    Sorry, I was offline . . .

The minidump files indicate a driver named rtump64x64.sys as the cause of the system crashes, that is the device driver on the Realtek Network card on that device, you should go to the support page for that device on the manufactures website, then form there, download and install the version of that driver they recommend . . .
