Task manager internet icon not working

I went to jump on my pc tonight after leaving it on all day to run some game updates while i was at work and when i got home i saw my pc looked like it had run an auto update (all my windows were closed out and i wasnt connected to the internet). When i went to connect to the internet the task icon would open and load then immediately close without showing me any networks. When i ran the trouble shooter all it gives me is the standard "hey ethernet and dial up look similar but arent" which isnt helpful as im connected via WiFi. I ran a DISM scan and it says i have corrupted files but when i run a DISM /restorehealth it doesnt do anything at all and says i need the source of the files...which i dont have because i dont know whats corrupted.

If that happens after an update most likely this is due to a network driver issue. Try to reset the network to reinstall the driver and clear the settings.

    1. Press Windows key then search 'Network reset"

    Then open network reset

    and click "reset"

    restart router

unplugged your network router for 60 seconds

    then plug it back in.

    1. Open and search "Power options"

    Select "Edit power plan settings"

Click " Change advance power settings"

    Expand "Wireless Adapter settings"

Set both to "Maximum Performance" for both battery and plugged in.

    1. Open "Device Manager"

    Then Expand Network Adapters

    Choose your Wifi Device

then right-click and click on properties

    Click on Power Management Tab

Uncheck "Allow computer to Turn off device to save power"

    Then Click Ok

    1. Perform a repair upgrade to repair system files.

This will upgrade and repair your system without losing your files and apps.

Download the Media creation tool here.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

    Then choose "ISO"

Once it is downloaded click or open the file using the windows explorer

Then open or click "setup" to run.
