Changing lock screen passcode

On my home Windows 10 laptop, I have a lock screen passcode that I would like to change.  However when I go to sign-in options, under Windows Hello PIN it says "This option is currently unavailable."  It also says "this PIN isn't working for your organization's resources."

When I "click here to fix it," it eventually prompts me to sign in with my work email to access my account, even though this is my personal computer, not owned or managed by my employer.  When I try to sign in with my personal Microsoft account, it says "You can't sign in here with a personal account.  Use your work or school account instead."  But again, this is my own PC purchased independently from work -- and the top level of settings shows my personal MS account, not my work account.  Why does it not allow me to change my own passcode?

My name is Ru. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

This is a policy that is created by your work organization. At some point, you may have signed in to your device using your work credentials. You can go to Settings > Accounts > and make sure you are signed in with your personal Microsoft Account.

Then go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school > you will be able to see your work account listed there. Click on the account and click disconnect to remove your work profile from your device.

Please note this may disconnect all Microsoft resources such as office 365 if you are using a work provided MS office 365.
